Someone is running around Hamilton stealing Remembrance Day poppy donation boxes.
The culprit, a young man in his 20s, grabbed two of the donation boxes with cash off the counter at Tim Hortons on Ottawa Street North at 5:30 a.m. Thursday
Sergeant Terri-Lynn Collings says the man ordered a coffee and when the server turned away to get his order the man ran out with the two boxes.
Half an hour later, a man matching the same description hit the Tim Hortons on King Street West downtown, asked for a coffee and grabbed the donation boxes.
He is said to be an east Asian man in his early 20s who has a medium build, short black hair and a goatee. He weights about 165 lbs and stands just less than 6 feet tall.
The thief wore a dark blue jacket with a white stripe down the sleeves and a logo on the back, dark jeans.
All proceeds from the sale of the pins goes to the Royal Canadian Legion’s Poppy Fund to assist veterans and their families in need, whether they are legion members or not.
The fund and its benefits are important to Canada’s aging veterans.

Silly petty crime, probably doing it to entertain friends. If you're going to steal don't steal off of veterans like come on now.
