The Hamilton Tiger-Cats beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 38-20 on Sunday afternoon at Ivor Wynne Stadium in the final pre-season tune up for both clubs. The Ticats opened the scoring just over five minutes into the first quarter when Sandro DeAngelis hit a 33-yard field goal to put the Cats on the up 3-0. The Cats kept the drive alive when punter Justin Palardy shanked his punt - it travelled just 10 yards - but then chased the ball down and recovered it. By rule, the Cats retained possession. After the Bombers went two and out on their first series, Hamilton drove down to the two-yard line off a 40-yard punt return from Martin Manson and 31-yard grab by Dave Stala. But rookie fullback Sam Fournier got stuffed at the two-yard line after head coach Marcel Bellefeuille went for it in third down - a pre-season move to be sure.
