Police seize $500,000 worth of marijuana

Police seized 500 marijuana plants — worth $500,000 — from a Grimsby home and arrested one man Friday.

About $15,000 worth of growing equipment was also seized, along with a Ford Excursion and a cargo trailer.

Police found a man in the grow lab when they used a warrant to search the house.

The master bedroom and part of the basement in the 374 Park Rd. S. residence were being used for the grow operation, Niagara police said.

The building and property were maintained to appear as if someone lived there, but no one did, police said.
