Officer pays price for uncharacteristic mistake

A Hamilton police officer, who recently pled guilty to impaired driving while off-duty, will pay a heavy financial price.

42 year old Kim Walker, who is married and a mother of two, has been demoted from first-class constable to second-class constable for the next 14 months.

Walker has also paid for repairs to a home owner's property, since she damaged a wooden fence after losing control of her vehicle in Glanbrook last winter.

She has admitted to being impaired at the time of the early morning single-vehicle accident, which occured on December.27th in the area of Upper James Street and White Church Road.
