Brent Zoschke clung to the hood of the car rocketing down Barton Street, looked the driver in the eyes and pleaded for his life.
"My face was right up against his in the windshield," said Zoschke. "I was pleading, 'Stop, please let me off.' But he looked through me like I didn't exist."
The 23-year-old was in the midst of a wild 1.4-kilometre ride splayed across the windshield and hood of a car after he tried to block a man from leaving the parking lot of the U-Haul location at Barton Street and Nash Road in the city's east end.
Zoschke and a fellow U-Haul employee suspected a man of shoplifting in the U-Haul retail shop Saturday. They followed him outside.
"He had left his car idling and we wanted to stop him from leaving by blocking him with a truck," the customer service representative said.
