The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the San Antonio Rampage 4-0 on Wednesday night at Copps Coliseum. The win was the ‘Dogs fifth win in a row and Curtis Sanford’s fourth shutout of the American Hockey League season as he made 22 saves.
The ‘Dogs opened the scoring at 11:14 of the first period. Tom Pyatt sent a pass to David Desharnais, who fed the puck across the crease to Brock Trotter. Trotter flipped a shot over sprawled San Antonio goaltender Josh Tordjman.The ‘Dogs upped the score just 1:18 into the second stanza. P.K. Subban’s shot from the point bounced off the leg of a San Antonio defender and onto the stick of Mike Glumac. Glumac promptly slid the puck between the legs of Tordjman and into the net. Subban gave Hamilton a 3-0 lead eight minutes later. Trotter fed a cross-ice pass to Desharnais, who wired a shot on net that was stopped by Tordjman only to have Subban stuffed the loose rebound over the goal line.
