Citizen of the Year nominated for Hamilton honour

Firefighter Tony Holubeshen loves to do charity work.

“I find charity work to be totally satisfying and it brings my family close together – I work closely with my wife and it’s something we enjoy,” he said. “It’s just something I’ve always loved to do.”

Holubeshen has served the community as a firefighter for 30 years. As Hamilton Professional Firefighters Association Local 288’s public relations, fundraising co-chair, Holubeshen, in partnership with fellow co-chair Chris Wiemelink, represents 525 active members in helping charities and people in need throughout the year as their spokesperson.
