Section of Welland Canal collapses

St. Catharines  –  A section of the Welland Canal collapsed this morning.

The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation said the area below Lock 2, north of Scott Street in St. Catharines was quickly secured shortly after the 9 a.m. incident.  There were no injuries reported.
