Pierre Exume was anxiously awaiting the day his two teenage daughters could come up from Haiti to live with him in Canada.
Just last week his daughters Samantha, 18, and Sabrina, 13, joked with him about how they didn't like the Canadian winters.
On Friday, Exume learned that both his daughters had been killed in the massive earthquake that decimated Haiti last week.
Now he is trying anxiously to get a plane to Haiti so he can help give his daughters a proper burial.
"I feel terrible, terrible, terrible," said Exume, 58.
"I cried and cried. It was not possible. I wanted to be able to die also."
Exume said he first heard about the quake on Tuesday while listening to the CBC in his car.
As soon as he got home, he dashed to the phone to call his family.
He couldn't get through. Thus began the long, agonizing wait.
