Clean up sweeps through Hamilton

The TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup hit Hamilton and Burlington this weekend as part of a national initiative to help keep Canadian shorelines clean.

Volunteers were expected to pick up refuse at several locations across the city Saturday and Sunday, including along the Waterfront Trail, at Confederation Park and at Bayfront and Pier 4 parks.

In Burlington, those wanting to lend a hand had a chance Saturday at Spencer Smith Park. The Beachway Park South was also expected to receive a clean up.

Naval reservists and reserve divers were also set to help with the efforts at Spencer Smith and Pier 4 and Bayfront parks.
