The Royal Botanical Gardens, back on a solid financial footing, launched a new interactive welcome centre today designed to make it easier for visitors to explore its 2,700 acres of flowers, forests and fields.
The Stedman Exploration Hall finally solves the dilemma of the RBG Centre’s long entrance way.
Staff labelled it “the bowling alley,” recalled CEO Mark Runciman. Now, he says, it’s an informative portal to the vast RBG footprint.
Funded by a donation from Brantford’s Mary Stedman, a member of the department store family, the hall fulfills the RBG’s mandate, Runciman says, by offering easy directions for exploring the property, interactive features and displays highlighting biodiversity.
