The Hamilton Tiger-Cats looked decidedly old school in beating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 25-13 last night. The team was wearing a 1960s era jersey and seemed to be channeling the smashmouth mentality of the great Ticat teams gone by.
You'd have thought the beer was being served at 1960s prices too. The Ivor Wynne faithful, all 24,292 of them, were downright raucous as they enjoyed a game that featured plenty of bone-rattling hits. How tough was this game? Even a referee went down.
The game opened with a decent opening drive by the Cats that went seven plays and 43-yards but was spoiled when kicker Nick Setta's 43-yard field goal hit the right upright. It was Setta's fifth miss in nine tries this year as he's struggled with a back injury suffered in the pre-season.
