Drunk truck thief leads cops on two-hour chase

A 41-year-old Cayuga man has been arrested for drunk driving after leading police on a two-hour pursuit that spanned four highways and nearly a dozen municipalities yesterday

Police followed a stolen Quebec tractor-trailer from the Hagersville area to Bowmanville, east of Toronto, where the truck finally ran out of gas.

Police officially called off the chase in Mississauga after the tractor rammed a cruiser from behind, but continued following it until it reached Bowmanville. The journey spanned the QEW, the Gardiner Expressway, then went north on the Don Valley Parkway and finally, to Highway 401.
