he weekend drop-in program at Living Rock Ministries has been saved for the time being by a donor who does not wish to be publicly recognized. The Weekend Open Access Program, which had been running for the past three with funds from the federal government, was forced to close after this past weekend when funding ran out.An anonymous donor has now stepped forward to sponsor the program, which needs $3,000 a month to keep running. It’s not yet clear how long the sponsorship is for.Up to 70 kids a day used the weekend program, which provided movies, food and access to showers, phone and the Internet, among other things. The initiative ran Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30 to 8 p.m. at The Rock’s downtown location on Wilson Street.

To the anonymous donor, God bless you Sir or Madam. I have heard so many good things about the Living Rock and what it does for the youth of this city. Thank you for allowing it to continue.
