A group of fishing enthusiasts that stages the Sucker Sunday derby on Spencer Creek each year is holding a public forum tomorrow to talk about after-effects of the Biedermann pesticide packaging plant fire July 26, 2007.
Marty Zuliniak, who heads the Sucker Sunday Society, says no suckers were caught in the 33rd annual derby on April 19 when 20 anglers hooked only four perch and one carp.
"I have decided to pronounce Spencer Creek in serious trouble, due to the toxic water that entered into the creek in the summer of 2007," he said in announcing the gathering, which starts at 7 p.m. in the Dundas Municipal Service Centre (the old town hall) at Main and Hatt streets.
