The drivers were 10, 11 and 13 and their two rounds of bumper cars in a fenced compound has cost a Gage Avenue North auto business about $80,000.All three were arrested by Hamilton police late Sunday after the owner of Trotters Auto Service caught two of them ramming cars around in the compound at 5 p.m. That turned out to be Act Two of a rampage that began much earlier in the day.The two youngest were not charged because of their age and released to the custody of their parents.The 13-year-old was charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit mischief. He too was released to his parents.Owner Craig Trotter says 17 cars were damaged when they were driven around the compound. Police estimated total damage at $80,000.Sergeant Terri-Lynn Collings said the owner arrived at the lot late Sunday afternoon and caught the 10 and 13-year-old in the yard. He held them for police.Police then learned that the 11-year-old had been in the yard Saturday night doing the same thing and had bragged about it to his friends who then decided they would try it too.But those two were caught.
