Man assaulted twice as pair argue

A 30-year-old Hamilton man is in serious condition in hospital after being assaulted twice early Saturday.

Police said a man and woman were involved in a domestic dispute outside Boomers bar on Kenilworth Avenue around 2:10 a.m., when another man got involved.

The intervening party was an associate of the woman and all three people were known to each other.

Although an initial report said the man was a Good Samaritan, police said yesterday that was not the case.

First, the man was punched and went down, only to recover and pursue the arguing couple down the street.
