A shark and a tuna have been urging patrons at a west-Hamilton supermarket not to buy seafood products on Greenpeace’s ‘Redlist.’The two costumed characters and a dozen supporters broke out protest banners outside the Metro supermarket on King Street West just before noon Monday.The campaign to raise awareness about dwindling stocks, overfishing and poor fish-farming practices and their impact on ocean life and coastal communities is part of a cross-Canada tour hitting 19 cities in five provinces. It began two weeks ago.Management of the Metro store referred all media inquiries to the chain’s head office.Beth Hunter, Ocean campaign co-ordinator, said customer reaction has been positive and without problems. Greenpeace volunteers handed out leaflets to passersby.
