Purse snatcher strikes on Upper Wellington

Hamilton police are hunting for another purse snatcher.

Police said yesterday a 43-year-old woman escaped injury when she was robbed by a man after she got off the Upper Wellington Street bus and was walking west on Towercrest Drive just before midnight.

The woman told police a man with a black beard she thought seemed "jittery" approached her and as he passed, he grabbed the purse she was holding in her right hand.

The woman, who tried to hold onto her purse, was spun around and injured her hand slightly when she fell to the ground.
