Cop walks away from spectacular crash

A Hamilton police officer was lucky to escape unharmed from a spectacular crash this morning when a small sedan drove through a stop sign and slammed into the side of his cruiser.

Witnesses say a woman driving south on Park Street failed to stop at the corner of Cannon and T-boned the police car.

The force of the crash spun the cruiser, which ended up smashing into a concrete light pole shortly after 9 a.m.

The impact was so severe that both vehicles received major damage, but both the female driver and the constable walked away without injuries.
