Former Hamilton police inspector Rick Wills now faces eight more charges, including disobeying a court order, in addition to almost four dozen charges of fraud, theft, break of trust, concealment, breaching court orders and forgery already laid following an OPP investigation.
Wills, a 28-year-veteran of the force who is now retired, is free on $20,000 bail and will appear in Hamilton court today on all charges. The Ontario Provincial Police is handling the case at the request of Hamilton police.
Sergeant Pierre Chamberland, OPP media relations co-ordinator, said in a statement yesterday that the additional charges were laid Tuesday.
Chamberland said the additional charges include disobeying a court order, two charges of false return by officer, two counts of falsifying a document, two charges of breach of trust and one count of fraud under $5,000.
