It sounds like the lease agreement signed this week with Jim Balsillie could save Hamilton taxpayers as much as 5-million dollars a year.According to the Spectator, Balsillie would take control of HECFI.That means he will operate Copps Coliseum, the Convention Centre and Hamilton Place.That would get rid of the city's annual subsidy for the facilities totalling 2.8-million dollars.It would also eliminate the cost of utilities and maintenance, which total 2.6-million a year.
