That's "progress" for you...thanks City of Hamilton...if it's not a Whitehearn or Dundurn Castle even a connection to William Winer Cook won't save you...at least we can say we have a few more "heritage" parking spaces...

"Progress"............Just think with now having more "heritage" parking spaces in Hamilton you can also drive for free down the Redhill Expressway and drive over 3 Neutral Burial grounds along the way, if that's not enough progress for you then you can also go down to where the Rosedale Baseball diamonds used to be and see how the Redill Creek was moved and went through a village site that had 6 Longhouses. Yes my friends those baseball diamonds were a village site. And still if your looking for more Hamilton progress here in Hamilton you will find that in Hamilton you can be a firekeeper in the Redhill Valley where your fiancee gets pregnant and leaves pregnant disappearing with her friends husband while pregnant with your child to only take them to court and have no dialog for 2 years only to have Hamilton courts set and cancell court dates without you knowing and then dismiss your case without ever seeing your own child who is 5 years old and never seen her father even though you have walked the line during your life and during a courtcase and done everything you can to see and raise her. And just for a bonus you can at the end of the 2 years in court listen to the judge say how much of an "impressive" person you are for your morals for 45 minutes only at the end tell you to "walk away and let your daughter find you when she is older". It seems Hamilton does not mind pregnant women to disappear while pregnant with their friends husbands, and if you are a Redhill Firekeeper you can also know in Hamilton the courts will provide full support for her especially if she runs off with a person who photographs nude women (true with eveidence"), people like that get the Hamilton Courts blessing. All the evidence in the world is not enough to stop them. That's progress........

And as for William Winer Cook see how Hamilton Progress worked for him, where Cooks fathers estate was on top of Mount Albion is now a bunch of houses.

Erase history and persecute stand up people, that's progress in Hamilton.

I am still trying to figure out why he left the house to the city of Hamilton......."who was it that knocked on his door one day and said here's how it goes" I do not believe he left it to the city of Hamilton consentually. Maybe he did maybe he did not but I would wounder why when Hamilton tried to have him removed from the house he would leave it to them........hmmmmmmmm must be that Hamilton Progress people are talking about.

My friend also do not forget this about Hamilton Progress where you can be in prayer at a sacred fire with another firekeeper and be arrested by 6 officers, and if thats not enough you can also watch 15 of your friends get arrested for trying to protect a burial ground peacefully in Hamilton.

Hamilton always said the Valley would look better whenn they were finished with it,,,,,,,,Looks like the city of Hamilton knows better then the creator when it comes to adding "progress" to the land.

Great Job Hamilton,,,,,,,instead of being labeled the ambitious city maybe the new slogan should be...."Hamilton-where destruction equals progress"..

I am not surprised with the demolition of this home, however it disturbs me to think that this is considered progress by destroying a home that is over 130 years old. This home was a piece of Hamilton history to past present and future individuals. If it was and is a matter of the old mighty dollar would it have not made sense to preserve this home and utilize it as a tourist attraction as a museum to generate revenue for the city of Hamilton? This would have also employed individuals in the city who are currently unemployed as well. This is what I would determine as progress. Never mind the bloody parking spaces, really how much revenue is that really going to generate!
