Strong storm hits city

The storm was short and sharp and Hamilton will not see a repeat performance on Sunday, predicts Environment Canada.

The city was pummelled with a heavy rainstorm, which also passed through Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, late Saturday morning and early afternoon.

The storm was so strong, part of Centennial Parkway, from the South Service Road to Arrowsmith Road was closed for about a half an hour because of a flash flood. One vehicle became stuck in the water, police said.
