Tortured man collapses with stroke

A mentally disabled man found beaten, burned and near death in a Hamilton apartment in mid-February is recovering in a Saskatchewan hospital after suffering a severe stroke.

The 22-year-old, who cannot be named because of a court-imposed publication ban, was rushed to hospital three weeks ago and underwent brain surgery to remove a large blood clot.
