Sherman Cut closed all week - Reopens Friday at 6 p.m.

Some commuters will want to find a new route up and down the Mountain next week.

The Sherman Cut will be closed from Monday at 9 a.m. until Friday at 6 p.m. to allow for work connected with the Henderson General Hospital redevelopment.

Hamilton Health Sciences and the city say the closure of the Sherman Cut between the Sherman Access and Crockett Street will facilitate the construction of retaining walls on the northeastern portion of the Henderson site, along with escarpment edge work and tree removal, without impacting on the safety of motorists below.
