Time is running out on McMaster University's dream of a three-way partnership with the school board and the city to build a major medical, education and public health complex at Main and Bay streets in downtown Hamilton.

Vice-president and dean of health sciences John Kelton said McMaster has written to the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board saying the university urgently needs to move ahead in negotiations to buy the board's headquarters property or it will have to pursue other options.
