Hamilton councillors are expected to approve a recommendation tonight with the city continuing to share control of the Disabled and Aged Regional Transportation System.
In a proposal that few politicians liked — but which most could support — city staff recommended that Hamilton hand-off DARTS’ scheduling service, while establishing performance based measurements on the controversial organization to make sure it meets stricter goals.“This is not a perfect system,” said Mayor Fred Eisenberger, who supported the so-called “hybrid” model that city staff proposed. “It makes sense in the interim.”
