Woman dies on way to 86th birthday party

An 86-year-old great-grandmother, critically injured en route to her own birthday party, is dead.

The woman was travelling in a cab in her wheelchair March 29 with a family member when another vehicle turned in front of them. The taxi driver braked suddenly, sending the woman -- who wasn't buckled in -- catapulting out of her wheelchair and into a folded bench seat in front of her.
