A major winter storm brewing over Nevada this morning has drawn a bead on Hamilton and Niagara, packing a snowfall of 5 to 20 cm.Environment Canada says this storm will move out of the Rockies this morning and swing northeast towards the Great Lakes, picking up moist air coming up from the gulf of Mexico on the way and building steam.“Weather prediction models are nearly unanimous in intensifying this low and tracking it over Lake Huron by Wednesday evening and then on to Southwestern Québec by Thursday morning” the agency says in a special weather statement issued just before 6 a.m. today. That means the story will begin dumping snow Tuesday evening across southern Ontario and head on towards Ottawa by Wednesday morning.
