The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Marlies 5-2 on Monday night in front of 7,619 fans at Copps Coliseum. The Bulldogs’ power play converted three chances while David Desharnais had two goals.
The Marlies got on the scoreboard first at 9:07 of the opening period while on a power play. Brendan Mikkelson blasted a shot from the point that was saved by Hamilton starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins. The rebound bounced onto the stick of Stefano Gillati, who flicked the puck past a sprawled Desjardins.P.K. Subban tied the game 1-1 at 11:57 of the first period. Ben Maxwell fed a pass to Desharnais, who was positioned at the right side of the net. Desharnais then dished a pass to Subban, who slid the puck between the legs of Toronto starting goaltender Adam Munro.
