It's possible Hamilton will run out of H1N1 vaccine by the end of the week. Blame a drastic shortage of provincial vaccine being delivered by a Quebec manufacturer. Rather than the 722,000 doses the province has been receiving weekly for the past four weeks, Ontario health officials expect just 179,000 this week.
Hamilton has become a provincial "hot zone" for the H1N1 flu virus, but the city will receive fewer than 10,000 doses this week. That's not enough to last a day.
The city, which has flu outbreaks at one emergency ward and 85 schools, will have to brace for the chance the vaccine supply will run out.
