Lister Block Restoration Moves Forward

Ten thousand tonnes of debris has been removed from the Lister Block this year.

That's according to LIUNA's Joe Mancinelli, who expects to complete the downtown renewal signature project within 12 to 14 months.

Mancinelli led media tours of the restoration of the 1924 James Street North heritage building on Monday morning.

He notes that more than a dozen contractors are involved in the effort, ranging from concrete, electrical and mechanical specialists to restoration and environmental abatement experts.
